HEAD SHEPHERD 

Te Hape B Trust is a 3,040ha effective property situated near Benneydale, 35 minutes from Te Kuiti and part of the wider Tiroa Te Hape group of farms covering 7,300ha. This Trust winters 31,000 stock units made up of a high-performing breeding ewe flock and breeding cow herd.

We are looking for a progressive Head Shepherd to join our team on Waiatara Station, which is 825ha. This role will suit someone with strong stockmanship, good working dogs, and an interest in developing both people and systems. We welcome applications from those who want to grow their skills and career within a supportive environment.

The successful applicant will:

• Bring 4–5 good working dogs

• Have experience handling large numbers of stock

• Be able to work well with others and help guide a small team

• Possesses clear written and oral communication skills

• Bring relevant farming qualifications or a willingness to build technical skills, with training and support available from the employer

• Enjoy being part of a progressive, innovative farming business

SHEPHERD GENERAL

Te Hape B Trust is a 3,040ha effective property situated near Benneydale, 35 minutes from Te Kuiti and part of the wider Tiroa Te Hape group of farms covering 7300ha.

This Trust winters 31,000 stock units made up of a high-performing breeding ewe flock and breeding cow herd.

We have a position for a Shepherd General to join our team.

The successful applicant would require 2-3 good working dogs, have some on-farm experience and is looking for an opportunity where their skills across the full range of farming activities can be further developed in a team environment.

You will need to have some stockmanship experience, an eye for detail, clear written and oral communication, be able to take responsibility, have a ‘can do’ attitude, be able to adhere to farm Health & Safety policies, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
